Chief Market Services Officer, Emory Healthcare
S. Patrick Hammond serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Emory Healthcare Network and the Emory Healthcare Population Health Collaborative, as well as Chief Market Services Officer for Emory Healthcare. Over the course of his 34-year career—all of it spent with Emory Healthcare—he has played a central role in shaping the system’s approach to network development, managed care strategy, and population health.
Hammond oversees the Emory Healthcare Network, which integrates Emory’s aligned physician practices, including more than 550 primary care physicians and over 50 Emory-owned primary care offices across Metro Atlanta. He also leads the Emory Healthcare Population Health Collaborative, supporting care delivery transformation and value-based care initiatives.
As Chief Market Services Officer, Hammond is responsible for managed care payer contracting, medical economics, and performance reporting. He also oversees medical staff services, including credentialing, payer enrollment, medical staff support, and physician outreach.
Early in his tenure, Hammond launched the system’s first managed care office and later led the formation of the Emory Healthcare Network in 2011.
Hammond joined Emory Healthcare in 1991 as an administrative resident following completion of his Master of Health Administration from Duke University. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Emory University.
