Committed To Serving the LGBTQIA Community

When you need care, you deserve respect and understanding. And you deserve to work with an outstanding and compassionate medical team.

At Emory Healthcare, we are committed to providing the health care LGBTQIA people need with kindness and sensitivity. Our innovative and personalized care involves you in the decision-making process. We want you to feel empowered to live life to the fullest.

Our Commitment to LGBTQIA Patient Rights

At Emory Healthcare, we want LGBTQIA patients to experience quality care. We provide all patients with a welcoming and supportive environment.

As an LGBTQIA patient, you have a right to:

  • A family member or representative of your choice present during your stay (unless their presence interferes with others’ rights or safety, or is medically not advised).
  • Care given in an environment free from all forms of abuse, harassment or discrimination.
  • Care that prioritizes your safety in a safe setting.
  • Considerate and respectful care without bias based on age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture, language, physical or mental disability, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
  • The quick notification of a family member or representative of your choice when you are admitted to the hospital.

You can find these and other rights in our Patient Privacy & Rights. You can also read our Non-Discrimination Policy.

The Emory Reproductive Center welcomes and embraces all types of growing families.
Our Voice Center offers surgical and non-surgical methods of aligning your voice with your gender.
