Emory Healthcare provides interpretation and translation services at no cost to our patients and family members who do not speak English as their primary language. Emory provides a series of resources from in-person interpretation to over-the-phone or video remote interpretations. We want to ensure clear and effective communication between our patients and our providers. For deaf and hard-of-hearing patients we provide ASL/CDI interpreters as well as video interpretation.

If you are a patient or family member who is deaf, hard-of-hearing or prefers to use a language other than English, we provide free access to several interpretation services. We recommend using this resource rather than relying on family members for interpretations. This is for your safety and to ensure your privacy and agency in making medical decisions.

Video Interpreting
Emory Healthcare offers video interpreting services available on demand with over 200 languages. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Telephonic interpreters for over 200 languages are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On-Site Interpretation
Contact your care team to request an in-person interpreter. Interpreters who speak Spanish, Korean and Vietnamese are available at Emory University Hospital - Clifton campus and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Our operating hours are:
Monday - Friday: 5:30am - 8:00pm.
