Terrie B. Estes, PMP, CHC, CHPC, CCEP, is Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for Emory Healthcare. She leads the organization’s enterprise-wide compliance and privacy programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, operational integrity, and organizational ethics.
Estes has more than two decades of leadership experience in health care compliance, privacy, financial planning, and operations. Before joining Emory, she held senior compliance and privacy positions at MedStar Health in Maryland and at Yale New Haven Health and the former Saint Raphael’s Healthcare System, both in Connecticut.
Earlier in her career, Estes held leadership positions in financial planning and administration for both health care and biopharmaceutical organizations. She also oversaw operations at an ambulatory surgery center and helped launch several business development initiatives before focusing her career on health care compliance and privacy.
Estes is certified in health care compliance and health care privacy compliance through the Compliance Certification Board and holds the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) credential. She is also a Project Management Professional (PMP), a certification she has maintained since 2005.
Estes earned a bachelor’s in business economics from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, a master’s in organizational development from Antioch University New England Graduate School in Keene, Connecticut, and a master’s in management from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven.
