Recovery and rehabilitation are critical aspects of stroke treatment. There may be an array of complications and impairments as a result of a stroke, from minor and major physical problems to mental depression.
In addition, some patients who suffer a severe stroke may have to relearn basic skills such as hygiene and grooming, reading and writing, as well as social interaction. And, families of stroke patients will need education and support to help care for their family member and to cope with their own potential issues, which can include psychological and financial stress.
To address these issues, the Emory Stroke Center offers patients the most comprehensive rehabilitative program in the Southeast. We work with each patient individually to develop a customized rehabilitation plan.
