Emory University Hospital Midtown is one of the earliest centers in the United States to form a genuinely multidisciplinary pulmonary embolism response team. The team, created by experts in lung, heart, blood, surgical and interventional treatment, is available 24/7 to see patients admitted with pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis.
Emory's team is also a founding member of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) Consortium. We've lectured on pulmonary embolism at national conferences, been involved in field research, and are published in top peer-reviewed journals. The surgeons on the team have access to the latest technologies used in thrombus treatment, and the intensive care units at Emory are equipped and staffed to deal with the most challenging cases.
