Volunteer Programs
Summer VolunTEEN Program
For high school students ages 16–18 (by June 1, 2026)
This summer volunteer program offers teens the opportunity to support hospital and clinic departments while learning about healthcare careers.
Program Highlights
- Serve one consistent shift per week (Monday–Thursday) in the same department
- Volunteer role—not shadowing or an internship
- Tasks may include:
- Organizing clinical supplies
- Delivering meal trays
- Assisting with department needs
Program Dates:
June 1 – July 24, 2026
(Volunteering not required the week of June 29 – July 3)
Application Timeline:
- Opens: Monday, February 17, 2026
- Closes: Friday, February 27, 2026, or until capacity is reached. Space is limited.

- Ages 18+
- Students enrolled in/planning for higher education (preferably post-freshman year, health care-focused)
- Onboarding: June/July
- Volunteering Period: September – April
- Commitment: one four-hour shift per week (same day), minimum of 80 hours.
- College Volunteers in good standing who complete their 80-hour program are invited to continue during the summer and return the following year.
Labor Support Volunteer Program
- Emory Decatur Hospital Location Only
- Onboarding: June/July
- Volunteering Period: September – April
- Commitment: Two shifts per month (one 10-hour, one six-hour), minimum of 80 hours.
- Focus: Non-clinical support for laboring parents and Labor & Delivery personnel, providing valuable experiential learning opportunities for nursing and other interested students.
- Labor Support Volunteers in good standing who complete their 80-hour program are invited to continue during the summer and return the following year.
- Ages 22+ (This is not an opportunity for students.)
- Commitment: One year, with one four-hour shift per week (same day), minimum of 100 hours annually
