Support Groups
Our classes and support groups are designed to improve the health and well-being of you, your family and the community.

The Bariatric Support Group is free and open to patients before and after bariatric surgery, whether you had surgery at Emory Healthcare or not. The group meets virtually at noon ET via Zoom on the second Wednesday of each month.

Diabetes education classes help you and your family learn to manage diabetes. All classes are virtual.

The Johns Creek Fire Department offers Heart Ready CPR classes. Participants must be residents of Johns Creek and at least 12 years old.

The Stroke and Brain Injury Survivors Club (SBISC) at EJCH meets every other month on the 4th Tuesday, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at 11670 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
Our next one is scheduled on August 26th. Our last one for the year will be in October.

Total joint replacement classes prepare you for upcoming hip and knee surgeries. We offer information about what to expect before, during and after your surgery. The class, taught by an orthopaedic coordinator/nurse navigator, also covers your surgeon’s preferences. Classes are in person on Mondays at Emory Johns Creek Hospital and Thursdays via Zoom from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Meeting ID: 92555786906). No sign-up required. Classes will not be held on Emory observed holidays that fall on Monday/Thursday.

Prenatal Classes
The Birth Place offers a series of free prenatal classes on a three-week rotation each month. Classes take place on Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Physicians Plaza fifth-floor conference room. We encourage you to register online ahead of time for the classes you wish to attend.
Please note: Classes are for adults only. We ask that you do not bring children younger than 18 years of age.

First Monday
Labor, Delivery & Postpartum 101

This class teaches you everything you need to know about going into labor and the delivery of your baby. It covers topics including the stages of labor, medications and pain management, delivery options and what to bring to the hospital. We also cover postpartum care, postpartum depression, basic infant care in the hospital setting and planning your delivery experience.
Second Monday
Breastfeeding 101

We teach you latch techniques, how to know whether your baby is getting enough milk and how to build a support team for help. You’ll learn about breast pumps and how to create a back-to-work stash of breast milk if you need one. We also cover common challenges, debunk common myths and answer your questions, so you feel prepared when your baby arrives.
Third Monday
Newborn Care Essentials

The class, designed for first-time parents, will help you gain the knowledge and skills to confidently care for your newborn. Led by experienced maternity nurses, the class covers topics including feeding, diapering, soothing techniques, sleep safety, car seat safety and more. Empower yourself with practical advice and hands-on demonstrations to ensure you're ready and equipped for the exciting journey of parenthood.
