Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital focuses strictly on orthopaedic care. This includes major joint replacement, minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery, hip resurfacing, spinal fusions, surgeries and more. We have 120 beds and 11 operating rooms.

Our doctors, surgeons, nurses, therapists and other staff specialize in orthopaedic and spine treatments. This specific concentration results in:

  • In 2016, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) awarded Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital Magnet recognition for excellence in nursing. We earned our second Magnet designation in 2021.

  • In 2021, the Joint Commission recognized us as a Center of Excellence for Orthopaedic Surgery. They also gave us Core Spine and Advanced Hip and Knee certifications.

  • Since 2008, we have ranked among the top 10% of hospitals in the country in patient satisfaction.

Services

Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital offers the latest procedures to ease your pain and improve your function. We provide a variety of services for general orthopaedics, orthopaedic oncology and spine surgery.

These include:

  • Artificial spine disc replacement
  • Hip resurfacing
  • Major joint replacement (hip, knee and shoulder)
  • Minimally invasive orthopaedic surgery
  • Scoliosis and reconstructive surgery
  • Spinal fusions
  • Spine surgery
  • Tumor treatment and removal

We do not offer emergency services.

Sign-Up for a Pre-Surgery Class

Our pre-operative Total Joint Replacement class explains what to expect before, during
and after surgery. You may have a friend or family member attend with you.

Classes are in Rehab Therapy, Room 1201, near the hotel lobby. We hold classes on the:

  • Second Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Third Thursday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Fourth Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
