During a two-decade career, Marroquin’s leadership and contributions at UPMC include serving as president of the UPMC Physician Services Division, overseeing more than 5,000 employed physicians and all academic clinical faculty of University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Previously, he served as the chief health care data and analytics officer, during which time he created a best-in-class unified clinical data warehouse. As an academic interventional cardiologist and clinical researcher, he advanced the understanding of real-world results of new therapies, including a first-author paper in New England Journal of Medicine. Marroquin brings deep experience and proven leadership in advancing academic health systems.

Marroquin received his medical degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquin School of Medicine in Guatemala and completed residency training at University of Pennsylvania. He then completed three cardiology fellowships at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Florida and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
