Safety Comes First:
Welcoming You with Enhanced Security
A SafeExperience for Everyone
At Emory Healthcare, your safety and peace of mind are always our top priorities. That’s why we’re introducing new security measures across our campuses to help create an even more secure environment for our patients, families, and team members.
What’s New?
- Enhanced Security at Entrances: In September 2025, we are installing weapons detection systems at main entrances of most Emory hospitals and select clinics. These systems use the latest technology to help keep our spaces safe — quickly and discreetly, without slowing you down or requiring you to empty your pockets or bags.
- Helpful Staff: Our dedicated Public Safety Officers will be at each entrance to assist you and answer any questions, ensuring a smooth arrival.
- Streamlined Entry: To make sure everyone enters through these secure points, some doors may be designated as exit-only. Clear signs will help guide you to the right entrance.
What to Expect
- You’ll simply walk through the entrance as usual. If the system finds something that needs to be checked, an officer may ask to check your bag. These security enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, comfortable environment for everyone who visits us.
- While we don’t expect these enhanced security measures to slow down entry, you may notice that doors you’ve used in the past for entrance are now exit-only. Please allow a few extra minutes to find the correct entrance and arrive at your appointment on time.
