We help your business or health care facility reduce the risk of infection, conform with state regulations, and meet the necessary standard of care. Autocheck, our sterilization monitoring company, provides quality control testing of sterilization equipment such as steam, chemical, dry, and gas for hundreds of geographically dispersed clients of various types (i.e. dental offices, nail salons, and tattoo studios).

We work with various types of businesses across the country.

Equipment sterilization is critical to protecting your patients and clients from disease. Our highly trained staff follows the sterilizing practices outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). We ensure your equipment meets each state’s requirements.

Sterilization Monitoring Services

We offer several sterilization monitoring testing service plans. Then, we document pressure, temperature and exposure time in your sterilization records. Our sterilization monitoring services include:

  • All necessary materials to monitor sterilization, including return postage.
  • A positive control, necessary for quality assurance of the monitoring test system.
  • A report for each test, delivered by fax or sent via the U.S. Postal Service.
  • Immediate contact by telephone if a test shows that sterility was not achieved.
  • Consultative services, such as helping your staff solve sterilization-related problems at no extra cost.
  • A certificate of participation, suitable for display with each kit.

Understanding Sterilization Monitoring Services

Most states require the use of biological indicators to monitor the sterilization process. Biological indicators contain living nonpathogenic bacterial spores.

Testing with a biological indicator has benefits. The testing can reveal procedural problems. These issues can include overloading, improper loading, incorrect packaging and operator error. It can also detect mechanical problems with the sterilizer.

Chemical indicators, such as autoclave tape and color change strips, show that an item has been through a sterilizer cycle. But they do not verify that the equipment operated effectively or that the item is sterile. That’s why Emory Healthcare only offers biological indicators to reduce the risk of infection for your patients or clients.
